This church has a beautiful and simple façade with a main portal and two side doors. The upper and lower parts are divided by a cornice embellished with small arches, above which three rose windows with elegant capitals stand out. On top of this is another cornice, again with small arches. The church is Romanesque, with a few Gothic accents. Two stone lions sit alongside the main entrance (image). |
The InteriorInside, the church is composed of a nave and two side aisles. Stark and austere, it gives the church a feeling of great solemnity. Just past the entrance are twofourteenth-century tombs. Other tombs can be seen near the presbytery, which is set a meter higher than the nave. The presbytery also has fourteenth-century frescoes. The church was built at the end of the tenth century, but was restructured during the thirteenth century. The façade was completed in 1268. The lovely dome and square bell tower can be seen from the outside. |
